MMGS Business Meeting will begin 5:00 pm sharp. All Officers and committee members to arrive by 5:00 pm. Following the business meeting we will have the social hour beginning at 6:00 or 6:30 pm. The general membership meeting will start at 7:00 pm sharp followed by the guest speaker or evening program.

January Featured Program:
Ed Clopton will give a talk and slide presentation on the Black Hill minerals and the Jewel Cave in South Dakota, which is one of the longest caves in the world.

Here are the silent auction goodies for January.  In addition, there will be FREE GARNETS (the birthstone of January) for everyone in attendance !!!

Junior Prospectors January 2010 Meeting

20100123_04 (Large)We will hold a Youth Group meeting this month on Saturday January 23rd at 6pm. At Jerry’s Gems 901, Route 1 in Saco. Activities will include mineral identification; methods of creating jewelry including how to wire wrap your treasures. Everyone will get a free mineral specimen to identify and add to his or her collection. Door prizes will also be drawn. For additional information call Jerry at 571-4522

 

Annual Boston Mineral Club Auction

What: Annual Boston Mineral Club Auction

Who: Anyone! Members, non-members, mineral enthusiasts, the curious.
Where: Needham Village Club in Needham, MA
When: Saturday January 16, 2010. (This takes place of the January BMC meeting.)
Why: This is a great opportunity to have fun and socialize with fellow mineral enthusiasts while taking advantage of an opportunity to acquire mineral specimens, equipment, and literature.

This Annual Auction is the main source of revenue for the Boston Mineral Club. The money raised pays for their membership in the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies, monthly speakers, and field-trip related expenses such as insurance.

Please consider donating specimens to this worthwhile event. We also accept consignments!

Note: The annual auction takes place of the monthly BMC meeting for January.
